This is only if you already have essentials. If you’re in need of desks or chairs, or if you teach in a flimsy tin can portable off the coast of the mainland, i.e. campus, or if students don’t have binders, or if binders are cracked / sealed with tape, take what you get. Even cheesy catalogs with cheesy supplies. LOTS OF LOVE, teachers.
I never thought I’d see anything that beat the Bed, Bath, and Beyond catalog for me in terms of design, product, and effectiveness (i.e., making me want the stuff they’re selling). But I was wrong. I was so, so wrong.
Fantasy poetry baseball? If only I had thought of that. You could use the whiteboards on a stick to hit phrases and run to bases made of laminated posters – since they’ll last. You’ll have plenty of room in your portable, I’m sure!
By the way, I do love personal white boards, but the staff at Home Depot will cut squares for you and you can line edges electrical tape for cheap if you need them!
Oh my gosh! That is a great idea. I love how your talk (and writing) about education manages to incorporate such great PRACTICAL tips for getting through the day, the year, the week – with energy leftover.
